Fatal Crash: 40-Year-Old Victim ID'd After 2-Vehicle Bay Shore Collision

Police on Long Island are investigating a crash in which a person was killed after crashing into an SUV.

The crash took place in Suffolk County around 8:20 p.m., Thursday, April 20 in Bay Shore.

According to Suffolk County Police, Felix Rivera was driving a 2005 Honda motorcycle eastbound on Union Boulevard when the motorcycle crashed into a 2004 Jeep SUV that was turning from westbound Union Boulevard onto southbound Penataquit Avenue.

Rivera, age 40, of Bay Shore, was transported to South Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. 

The driver of the Jeep, a 65-year-old Bay Shore man, was not injured.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
